Has Cosmology taken a Wrong Turn in its Historical Development?

A review of the historical development of cosmology suggests that there are two approaches. One starts with the special and general theories of relativity and proceeds along the lines of theoretical physics; the other takes account of the fact that the universe consists of matter and that the chemical, physical and thermodynamic properties of matter need to be considered.

Relative Light Speed

Max Planck’s Quantum Theory and Albert Einstein’s Relativity Theory contradict each other. If one is true, the other is false. Scientists continue to imagine that both are true, applying Quantum Theory to very small objects and subatomic particles, and Relativity Theory to very large objects and space. However, the two theories cannot both be true. I believe that if one of the theories must be discarded, it should be Relativity Theory, because it is based on the false premise that the speed of light is not relative.

Consequences of Relational Time

There are two competing formulations of time in physics. Newton defended in the Principia the utilization of absolute time which, according to him “flows equably without relation to anything external.” Leibniz, on the other hand, was against this concept and proposed relative time to replace it: “ As for my opinion, I have said more than once, that I hold space to be something merely relative, as time is; that I hold it to be an order of coexistences, as time is an order of successions.”

Evidence for the Anisotropy of the Speed of Light

The Beckmann model is considered in relation to both the Electric Universe perspective of a charged Earth and to the actual non-null results of the various Michelson-Morley-type experiments. It is demonstrated that the Beckmann model is consistent with both concepts. Furthermore, application of the Beckmann model to an orbiting charged Earth offers support to the interpretation of the non-null Michelson-Morley results as evidence not of an ‘ether wind’ but rather of an electromagnetically-induced directionally-dependent anisotropy of the speed of light. This hypothesis offers a new direction for research and possible re-analysis of existing data.
