Conflicts due to inappropriate shifting of assumptions in special relativity / Neil E. Munch. In: Physics as a science. Ed.: G. Galeczki (u. a.). Palm Harbor 1998, S. 197 – 209.

(S. 197:) "Abstract: In the absence of precise notation and adequate controls of assumptions, the assumptions in special relativity (SRT) have been allowed to shift inappropriately. Thus it has been that criticisms based on one set of premises could be countered [unintentionally] using different premises. Seven examples are provided of important assumptions which shift and some consequences of those shifts. One consequence is that several self-conflicting resultant equations were produced in SRT derivations. Holding one set of assumptions constant (Einstein’s 2nd principle and its described use of light), a general expression and three resultant SRT equations are developed, all of which are contradicted by Doppler and other data. So, serious doubts can be raised about the 2nd principle. Conflicts identified throughout this paper provide an ample basis to seriously question SRT as currently understood."
